My name is Luis Castro. I am 39 years old and currently live in the Sacramento area, in California. I am originally from Los Angeles. I am a veteran as I served 18 1/2 years in the United States Army. I served in Operations Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom; Guantanamo Bay 2005/2006 and deployed to Iraq in 2007/2008 as a platoon sergeant in the artillery and infantry.
I have an AA in Criminal Justice. I have since switched to pursue a career and training as a hockey scout. I recently received my training certificate in the Hockey GM and Scout course. In addition I have own my business dealing in sports memorabilia and a hockey apparel clothing line. I have always had a passion for hockey and all the aspects of it. I play amateur league as a center for a local amateur team on my time off.
My goal is to use all aspects of my knowledge in hockey and everything I have learned to become a successful hockey scout. I believe I am capable of scouting players and also able to review scouting reports. I am highly motivated to be in the field of scouting.

Qualified and fully capable of using STEVA Hockey video Scouting program and Rinknet. 
Speaks Spanish fluently
Currently in week 7 of a 8 week ASL course
18 1/2 year Army veteran, combat service in Iraq
